Despite Tom Cruise’s long career in acting, he still hasn’t won the highly desired Oscar.
We believe he will eventually get one, even if it’s just in recognition of his many years of work.
However, it’s possible that the Academy may continue to overlook him, much like Tom chose to skip the recent ceremony where his movie Top Gun: Maverick was nominated in six categories-and even won one.
At first, insiders said Tom couldn’t attend due to scheduling conflicts, as he’s currently busy filming in a remote location.
But many online fans didn’t buy this explanation. After all, the chance to win your first Oscar doesn’t come around very often, and it seems like a short break from filming would have been possible.
Adding to the speculation, Tom was seen at the nominees’ luncheon the day before. When fans noticed Kidman on the red carpet, they started to believe that his absence had something to do with her.
Kidman looked stunning in a form-fitting black dress with large fabric flowers. The shimmering gown with a thigh-high slit highlighted all of her best features.
Even her husband, Keith Urban, who was by her side at the Oscars, couldn’t take his eyes off her on the red carpet.
Sources told the Daily Mail: “Tom didn’t want any uncomfortable run-ins with Nicole. That’s why he stayed away from the event.”
If this were about someone else, we might doubt it, but Cruise is known for being a bit difficult. So it wouldn’t be surprising if this was the real reason.
As a reminder, Nicole and Tom were once considered one of Hollywood’s most beautiful couples. They married in 1990 and adopted two children.
Their marriage ended in 2001, and rumors suggest the split happened because Kidman refused to join Scientology.
