Viewers watching the July 17th episode of AGT witnessed a dangerous accident during the performance by Duo Transcend, the husband and wife team of Mary and Tyce. They were doing a circus act that included aerial acrobatics and aerial silks. During the routine, Mary suddenly slipped out of her husband’s grip and fell to the floor, stunning everyone in the audience. The judges and the audience were terrified by the incident. Simon Cowell turned away, and Heidi Klum covered her head in shock for quite some time.
However, Mary quickly sprang up with a bright smile and announced that she was OK thanks to the stage’s padding. When she asked to perform the risky act again, the audience tried to stop her. Judge Simon Cowell stated that the incident only made the performance less than perfect.
Mel B said that the act was truly admirable, given Tyce’s blindness in one eye. Mary and Tyce wanted to participate in the show to help their family, especially their two-year-old son, end their long-term journey.
