Individuals who have experienced the ocean are well aware of its unpredictable nature. One aspect that should never be taken lightly is the tide; it can pose significant dangers if one is caught in an unfavorable situation.
The tide has the potential to catch individuals and animals off guard, engulfing them within seconds, and in certain instances, it may result in a prolonged and agonizing demise. This was nearly the fate of an 18-year-old horse named Astro.
Nicole Graham, the owner of Astro, along with her daughter, was riding their horses along the beach near Geelong, located south of Melbourne, Australia. However, they soon encountered soft sand, which transformed the ground beneath them into a treacherous muddy trap.
While Nicole’s daughter and her horse managed to escape, she and Astro became increasingly ensnared in the mud. Astro found himself submerged up to his neck in clay, facing the peril of suffocation. Nicole devoted three hours to remain by Astro’s side, engaged in a desperate struggle for survival.
