🌸During the audition for “America’s Got Talent,” a senior from Knoxville who is funny impressed the judges with his humor.🌸

It is only via her sense of humor that Corkey Miller is prepared to transform $500 into $1 million.

As a result of his victory in the annual Morning Pointe Foundation Seniors Got Talent competition held in Knoxville the previous year, the stand-up comedian from Wears Valley, who is 63 years old, was given the chance to try out for the program “America’s Got Talent.”

During the episode that aired on July 23, Miller made an appearance on the famous competition program for NBC. Over the course of the previous year, showrunners came across her after she had won the Seniors Got Talent competition. There are a lot of gags in Miller’s performance that make fun of becoming older.

The amusing stories that Miller shared about her animals, her dating life, and her online search history left an impression on all four celebrity judges on America’s Got Talent. In addition to receiving a standing ovation from the show’s resident comic, Howie Mandel, she was fortunate enough to get four yeses.

“The thing that I admire most about you is how fresh you are,” Mandel stated. “I like the fact that you do not have a lot of experience. The truth is that you are sincere and genuine. You are very pleasant, and the content of your stuff is your day-to-day existence. The amateur comic advances to the next stage, where the judges will choose the 55 acts who will vie for a slot in the final by performing during the live performances and competing against one another.

We are overjoyed to learn that Corkey will be moving on to enjoy such a wonderful experience! The statement was made by Miranda Perez, the Executive Director of the Morning Pointe Foundation, in a news release.

Given that one of the primary goals of Seniors Got Talent is to demonstrate that age is nothing more than a number, it is quite remarkable to see Miller’s accomplishments. When a performer reaches the age of seniority, it does not imply that they have finished making contributions to the arts,” Perez remarked.

Miller, who hails from North Carolina, brought home $500 for his victory as the winner of the 2023 Seniors Got Talent competition. The million-dollar top prize for “America’s Got Talent” is up for grabs.

Miller has only been doing stand-up comedy for the last four years. For more than four decades, she has been employed in the field of animal training and as an animal talent agent. In the past, she has taught a broad range of animals for use in television and film. Her first major role was in the movie “Groundhog Day,” in which she took part in the production of the picture.

The auditions for the fourth annual Seniors Got ability event, which is being hosted by the Morning Pointe Foundation, are now open. If you are at least sixty years old and wish to showcase your unique ability, you are eligible to participate.

In-person auditions will take place at the local Morning Pointe Senior Living campuses from September 24th to October 6th, and online auditions are now available at our website, morningpointefoundation.com.

Talented seniors who are at least 60 years old are strongly invited to participate. It is also possible for groups with six or fewer performers and over sixty to audition. Singers, musicians, dancers, poets, comedians, and other different types of performers have performed in the past.

There will be ten local talents competing in the concert that will take place on November 12 at 7 p.m. at The Bijou Theatre in Knoxville. The winner of this year’s grand prize will be awarded $1,000 per reward. At the end of the competition, the winner of second place will get $500, and the winner of third place will receive $250.

Tickets to witness the concert will be available a little closer to the date of November and will cost ten dollars each. The Morning Pointe Foundation receives the proceeds from the sale of tickets and sponsorships received by the organization.
